1. About us

JPA Glass Systems (PTY) Ltd, trading as SUNFLEX SA (“we”, “us” or “our”), is responsible for the personal information covered by this policy.

This policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information through our website, enquiries, quotations and related services in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (“POPIA”).

Our head office is at Unit No. 1, 25 Riverhorse Close, Riverhorse Valley, Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. We also have branches in Cape Town and Johannesburg.

For privacy enquiries or requests, contact our Information Officer through [email protected] or 031 512 5202, or write to our head office.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide when requesting a quotation, contacting us or visiting our showrooms. This includes your name, email address, telephone number, site or installation address, project requirements, product details and correspondence.

Our website also uses necessary cookies, including those that remember your cookie preferences. Further information appears in our Cookie Policy.

Where information is required to respond to an enquiry, prepare a quotation or fulfil an order, not providing it may prevent us from assisting you.

3. How we use your information

We use relevant personal information to:

  • Respond to enquiries and prepare quotations.
  • Provide products and services.
  • Arrange site visits, installations and after-sales support.
  • Administer our website and communication systems.
  • Comply with applicable legal, tax and regulatory obligations.
  • Send marketing communications where you have consented.

We process personal information only where POPIA permits it, including where necessary to take steps at your request towards a contract, perform a contract, comply with a legal obligation or pursue a legitimate interest recognised by POPIA.

Where processing requires consent, we obtain it. Visiting our website does not, by itself, constitute consent.

4. Marketing communications

We send electronic marketing only where you have consented. You may withdraw consent or unsubscribe at any time, free of charge, using the instructions in the communication or our contact details above.

Withdrawing marketing consent does not prevent necessary communications about your enquiry, order or service.

5. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to support website functions, including remembering your cookie choices. With your consent we also use analytics and marketing cookies, through Google Tag Manager, to understand how the website is used and to measure our advertising on Google, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), LinkedIn and Microsoft platforms. Before you choose, and if you decline, Google’s tags run in a restricted mode that does not set those cookies, and the Meta, LinkedIn and Microsoft tags do not run. Details are in our Cookie Policy.

You can manage available choices using Preferences in the website footer or block and delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect website functionality.

If we introduce optional tracking technologies, we will update our Cookie Policy and obtain consent where required.

6. Sharing your information

We do not sell personal information.

We may share relevant information with SUNFLEX branches handling your enquiry and service providers supporting website hosting, content management, delivery of form submissions by email, and Google, Meta, LinkedIn and Microsoft, which provide the analytics and advertising measurement tools described in our Cookie Policy.

Providers processing information on our behalf must act on authorised instructions under written agreements requiring appropriate security and confidentiality.

We may also disclose information where legally required or otherwise lawfully necessary, including to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.

7. Processing outside South Africa

Where our service providers process personal information outside South Africa, we ensure that the transfer meets section 72 of POPIA.

This may include using recipients subject to an adequate protective law or binding agreement, or relying on another applicable statutory transfer ground. Where applicable, we provide further information about overseas processing when collecting your information.

8. Retention and security

We retain personal information only for as long as lawfully necessary for its purpose, including applicable tax, warranty, contractual and legal record-keeping requirements. We then securely delete, destroy or de-identify it.

We apply appropriate, reasonable technical and organisational safeguards against loss, damage, unauthorised destruction, unlawful access and processing.

Where POPIA requires notification of a security compromise, we notify the Information Regulator and affected persons as soon as reasonably possible, subject to lawful exceptions or delays.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable legal requirements, you may:

  • Ask whether we hold your personal information and request access.
  • Request correction of inaccurate, incomplete or outdated information.
  • Request deletion or destruction where legally permitted.
  • Object to processing where applicable.
  • Withdraw consent where processing relies on it, without affecting earlier lawful processing.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.

Contact our Information Officer using the details above to exercise these rights. We may require proof of identity before acting on a request.

You may complain directly to the Information Regulator without first contacting us:

10. Children’s information

Please contact us if you believe a child has supplied personal information without the required authority.

11. External websites

External websites have their own privacy policies. Review these before providing personal information. This does not remove our responsibilities for information we disclose to third parties.
